Anchored in history but with current-day relevance, the custom modules and case studies in this program focus on key leadership skills critical to mid- and senior-level leaders. This intentional design and facilitative approach—coupled with pro-active reflection and powerful dialogue—enables participants to incorporate impactful learning opportunities into their own leadership style, and to explore their journey with others sharing their sense of purpose.

Registration fees for the Gettysburg Leadership Experience are paid directly to our trusted partner FCCS. All communications regarding the program and logistics will come from FCCS.

Meriwether Lewis and William Clark left behind comfort and certainty to undertake a journey of discovery. They went beyond the bounds of what is known in order to forge a new path across uncharted territory. They chose to lead others into uncertainty, knowing that it would result in greater opportunity. Using their historic expedition as a backdrop, participants will explore the 5 key leadership lessons that made Lewis and Clark's journey a success and are still critical today: Vision; Building Your Team; Overcoming Obstacles; Resilience, and Proceeding On.
The Lewis & Clark Experience Program is designed for a diverse audience to build a learning team that will benefit from each other's unique perspectives, backgrounds, experiences and levels of leadership experience. It is for all professionals aspiring to utilize the power of collaboration and diversity to achieve greater results.

Course Credit
NRECA course credit will be awarded only for the Gettysburg Leadership Experience (GLE) and/or Lewis & Clark Experience (LCE). Credit will not be awarded for other FCCS programs.
Directors
- Board Leadership Certificate (BLC) – Completion of the Gettysburg Leadership Experience (GLE) and/or Lewis & Clark Experience (LCE) yields two credits (for each program) to the director seeking to attain NRECA's Board Leadership Certificate.
- Director Gold Credential - Completion of the Gettysburg Leadership Experience (GLE) and/or Lewis & Clark Experience (LCE) yields a maximum of two continuing education credits within a single two-year continuing education cycle.
Employees
- Supervisor and Manager Development Program (SMDP) - Completion of the Gettysburg Leadership Experience (GLE) and/or Lewis & Clark Experience (LCE) yields two credits to the individual seeking to attain NRECA's SMDP certificate.
