Inclusivity is the practice of radical hospitality, where all people experience uncompromising respect and dignity. Inclusive organizations value and actively encourage multiple experiences and perspectives, creating a positive, collaborative environment in which people feel safe to be themselves and can contribute their best work to the organization.
It is essential to examine our own practices in the context of organizations and a society where the “isms” are deeply rooted. We are the instruments of change — the more we are aware of and understand our own filters, assumptions, power and privilege, the greater chance we can use our energy and wisdom to facilitate positive social change and leave a legacy different than the one we inherited.
