Overview

The Certified Loss Control Professional Program is a blended learning program featuring a series of four one-week seminars that give you the knowledge and skills needed to successfully manage safety and loss prevention responsibilities. The program goes beyond the foundations of regulations and standards to address hazard identification, investigation and analysis procedures, as well as communications and leadership skills to prepare you to take preventative measures and improve safety results. Completion of all four seminars is the first step to earning the Certified Loss Control Professional (CLCP) Program.

What you will learn
  • Leading practices and components of electric cooperative safety and loss prevention.
  • How to navigate and communicate industry rules and regulations.
  • Improve your ability to communicate, influence, and ensure accountability for safety.

Who Should Participate

Electric utility safety professionals, job training and safety consultants, operations personnel with safety responsibilities, or anyone with responsibility for leading safety performance in their organization.

Program Design

The CLCP Program is a high involvement blended learning experience that starts with a live-online Program Orientation at the beginning of Seminar 1. Each of the 4 seminars in the program consists of online and in-person instruction, small group work, presentations, individual assignments, and concludes with a test. In general, it takes approximately 2.5 years to complete all four seminars and a final Individual Project to earn the CLCP designation. Online coursework consists of both live-online modules and self-directed, on-demand content. The in-person classroom instruction for each seminar begins on Monday and ends by Noon on Friday, with the exception of Seminar 4 that concludes with a Graduation Dinner on Thursday evening.
