Overview

April 22, 2021

In December 2020, NRECA held, New Funding Available for Co-ops Serving Military Communities, a webinar introducing members to The Defense Community Infrastructure Program (DCIP). The program is designed to address deficiencies in community infrastructure supportive of a military installation in order to enhance the military value, resilience or military family quality of life. In Fiscal Year 2021, $60 million is appropriated to this program. Only state, local governments and rural electric cooperatives are eligible to receive the grant awards, providing a unique opportunity for co-ops to submit proposals to possibly receive this funding.

Registrants received a Fiscal Year 2021 update and overview of the DCIP funding opportunity for electric co-ops and learned how NRECA can help our members that serve military communities apply for these cooperative grants maximizing their opportunity to potentially receive funding through the DCIP.
