Dear Basic Benefits Training Course (BBTC) Registrant,

NRECA is committed to the well-being of our members, their families and the communities we live and work in. We are closely monitoring the evolution of the COVID-19 virus (also known as coronavirus). In accordance with health guidance from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) and other health authorities, NRECA has made the decision to cancel the in-person BBTC scheduled for May 5-7, 2020.

As a current registrant of the BBTC, you should cancel any travel and hotel reservations. To cancel reservations at the Westin Arlington Gateway Hotel, call 888-627-7076 or 703-717-6200. Additionally, please cancel your BBTC registration online. Sign into, go to My Registrations > Manage > Cancel. Please note that only those individuals who processed the registration (registrar) and the registrant can process a cancellation online.

We are exploring other ways to provide educational content that can best support our benefits administrator community. We look forward to sharing more details in the coming weeks. I’d also like to take this opportunity to make you aware of one-on-one training opportunities available through the team of benefits services representatives. The team is happy to arrange for individual training through web conferencing, the phone or through email. Reach out to the team at to discuss how we can support your co-op’s training needs. Additionally, lots of valuable information and resources exist online through the BA Guide on the Employee Benefits website at I hope you will find these resources beneficial not just now, but throughout your career at your co-op.

I appreciate your understanding of the cancellation of this year’s BBTC. In the meantime, if we can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out. I hope you and your cooperative family stay healthy and safe.

Vice President, Member Benefit Services

Northern Virginia is next door to our nation's capital - Washington, D.C. - yet has kept its own character reminiscent of colonial times, rambling plantations, equestrian farms and cobblestoned streets leading to quaint taverns, shops and historical gems.
