[accordion title="What%20is%20the%20Cooperative%20Career%20Essentials%20Program?"]The Cooperative Career Essentials Program is a flexible, competency-based education program derived from the
Core Competencies in our
Electric Cooperative Employee Competency Model. The learning portfolio consists of courses that address the knowledge, skills (hard and soft) and abilities electric cooperative employees need for successful job performance in these competency areas: business acumen, personal effectiveness, interaction with others and problem solving. The list of current courses can be found
here. This is a new program—we will continue to add to the portfolio.
For every five (5) credits you complete, you will earn an electronic certificate of accomplishment acknowledging the total number of credits you have completed.
Cooperative Career Essentials Program course credit cannot be applied to the Supervisor and Manager Development Program. And vice versa.[/accordion]

To customize the program for your needs, determine what your knowledge and skill gaps are and sign up for the courses that will help you close those gaps. Not sure how to determine your gaps? Take a look at the
Core Competencies and identify those that are meaningful to you and reflect a learning opportunity. You may want to work with your immediate supervisor and/or Human Resources staff to discuss your professional goals and core competency focus areas and identify courses that support those goals.[/accordion]
