Business Development


  • Helps drive market innovation, connect co-ops to industry partners and generate revenue by managing the Associate Membership program with over 400 members
  • Designs, sells and fulfilsl sponsorships to support NRECA events and generate additional revenue
  • Manages the sales and production of RE Magazine print and digital advertising, as well as Cooperative.com advertising to generate additional revenue
  • Oversees the growth of RE Magazine circulation to engage and inform members as well as provide revenue to the organization
  • Manages the business development relationships with our service members
  • Expands NRECA’s "trusted convener" reputation and brand beyond our member cooperatives to the industry partners

Digital Strategy

  • Develops designs from concept to production for unique, compelling content for all platforms
  • Responsible for performance and hands-on management of various social media channels such as Twitter accounts and Facebook feeds
  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop web and social media content to support various campaigns and initiatives
  • Develops video production from conception through post-production and delivery, including storyboarding, shooting, editing, writing scripts and conducting interviews
  • Provides video and photography support to various NRECA meetings and events
  • Responsible for newsgathering, writing, editing, review, publication and traffic analysis of news content for NRECA's three primary content channels RE Magazine, electric.coop and cooperative.com
  • Ensures that visitors to NRECA's websites have an informative, engaging and memorable experience

  • Collaborates with partners throughout the organization to promote NRECA products, services and programs to our members
  • Fosters increased member engagement by marketing the value of membership
  • Supports development of the next generation workforce through a strategic effort to promote the value of learning and continued education for cooperative leadership and staff
  • Develops and manages NRECA’s exhibit presence at key industry events
  • Develops turnkey resources through Straight Talk and other programs to assist members with their internal and member-facing communications efforts
  • Provides education opportunities for co-op communicators through periodic webinars and the bi-annual New Co-op Communicators Orientation
  • Develops strategic communications toolkits to help members plan for and address common communications challenges
  • Partners with member advisory groups to raise the profile of effective communications as a strategic imperative for co-op success
