We’ll also cover the basic factors that influence bird electrocution with powerlines and other electric infrastructure. Come learn new construction and retrofitting solutions for mitigating electrocution risk.

This session will cover the basic causes of bird collisions with powerlines and solutions for reducing collision risk. We’ll also discuss how voluntary Avian Protection Plans can help co-ops manage avian/powerline issues and why implementation can be beneficial.

This session will provide an overview of options to guide a co-op’s development of an avian program. We’ll unveil the NRECA Avian Protection Toolkit and APP Template, with an overview and shortcuts for using this new resource. We’ll also discuss emerging issues, trends, and practices, including for system reliability, wildfire risk, and interconnections with renewables.
