The Edgar F. Chesnutt Award is the highest honor bestowed by the Spotlight on Excellence Awards program.

The award is presented to the co-op whose entry in the Best Total Communication Program category receives the highest score from judges at nationally accredited universities and communication and marketing professionals in the private sector.

Edgar F. Chesnutt, for whom the award was named was manager of corporate communication with Arkansas Electric Cooperatives from 1961 until 1987.
