The North American Electric Reliability Organization (NERC) has identified technological advances in inverter-based resources (IBRs) and distributed energy resources (DERs) as having a major impact on our electrical grid. NERC provides a variety of useful resources to explain IBRs and DERs and their impacts, including disruptions to electricity systems. This advisory provides an overview of NERC's efforts and available resources to benefit cooperatives.
