NRECA representatives met with staff from Federal Communications Commission Chairwoman Rosenworcel’s office on July 1, 2024, to convey member concerns that current national broadband maps do not possess the data necessary to accurately guide federal funds for broadband deployment.
In light of a current FCC proceeding aiming to improve broadband data collection, NRECA advocated for individual speed tests to challenge claims of adequate broadband service and stressed the importance of accuracy and verification in reporting quality of service, particularly in rural America.
