On June 12, NRECA filed reply comments with the FCC regarding a proposal to mandate the reporting of broadband network outages. NRECA urged the FCC to avoid burdening small providers with additional cumbersome reporting requirements at times when they need to put all their resources towards restoring service as quickly and safely as possible. Instead, the agency should minimize the burdens by limited requirements and providing more flexibility in reporting by small providers.
