As the Department of Commerce conducts a "rigorous review" of the $42 billion BEAD program, many co-ops and statewides have expressed concerns about potential changes and impact to implementation timelines. Recognizing concerns among cooperatives, NRECA Broadband has created a templated letter to assist interested co-ops and statewides in communicating their concerns to their governors.

While each state BEAD proposal varies and may be at a different place along the program timeline, the templated letter urges governors to advocate for the elimination or waiver of unnecessary regulatory requirements and to allow states to implement their BEAD proposals without delay.

Co-ops and statewides are encouraged to personalize the templated letter and submit it to their governor's offices. If you have any questions or wish to discuss, please don't hesistate to reach out to Brian O'Hara at brian.ohara@nreca.coop or Katie Culleton at katie.culleton@nreca.coop.
