​​​NRECA'​s most recent analysis of co-op renewable generation resources ​found​ that in 2021, co-ops added nearly 1.4 gigawatts of new renewable capacity and deployment is accelerating, with solar dominating planned capacity. Furthermore, most capacity growth has been through power purchase agreements, rather than direct ownership.
