Stationary battery energy storage is a flexible resource that can be used for a variety of purposes. Electric cooperatives are continuing to implement battery systems for infrastructure deferral, frequency regulation, resilience, demand management, renewables integration, and microgrids. This NRECA advisory highlights a selected group of projects that illustrate the various grid applications of battery energy storage systems. These are being provided as part of NRECA's update to the 2020 Report: Battery Energy Storage Overview.
