Education: Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design/Illustration from Missouri State University.

Hobby: Artist

When did you become interested in art?

I don’t remember a time when I wasn’t interested in art. As a child I spent a lot of time with my grandmother, who is the most artistic person I know. She could turn anything into something weird and beautiful.

What’s your favorite thing she ever created?

She painted all four walls of my bedroom and the ceiling to make me feel like I was in a fairy garden.

Have you always had creative outlets?

Yes, I would always take as many art classes as possible, and I danced from age 3 until I was 18. When I got older and was able to help choreograph dances, I found it to be just as cathartic as putting pen to paper. Through dance, I became more confident in my artistic instinct and began to put more time into fine art like painting and drawing. My high school art teacher introduced me to graphic design and encouraged me to pursue it as my major in college.

What were you doing before you joined the co-op?

I planned special events for the Johnny Morris Conservation Foundation.

How did you hear about the job at Crawford?

A friend sent me the listing and I applied right away.

What do you like most about working at the co-op?

I love knowing that my work makes a difference in people’s lives. Being able to do something I am passionate about while giving back to my community is a dream come true.

What else do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I love doing home renovation projects, going to the lake with friends and hanging with my fur babies.

Random fact about you.

I am a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do.
