Hobby: I am a huge Disney fan. I’ve been to Disney World more times than I can count and once to Disneyland in California. My fiancé, Trevor, and I will be going to Disneyland Paris for part of our honeymoon.

How long have you been a “Disney nerd”? My mom and older sister love all things Disney too, so I was pretty much raised on Disney.

What is your favorite park at Disney World? The Magic Kingdom, because it has Cinderella’s Castle and all the mountain rides, which are my favorite.

When’s the best time of the year to visit? I’ve heard the best time to visit is September. I visited during Christmas and New Year’s once and the fireworks were amazing, but ride times were around two hours long.

Where else do you like to travel? I’ve been to the east and west coasts and Trevor and I visited Hawaii, which was amazing. Next year we’re going to Spain, France, and Italy.

How did you hear about the job at Coles-Moultrie? My parents are members of Coles-Moultrie, and my dad heard about the job opening.

Why did you want to work there? I felt like it would be a great opportunity for me. I knew working for a co-op would give me that feeling of accomplishment, and I love being able to give back to the community I grew up in.

What do you like most about your job? The people I work with. A day doesn’t go by without someone making me laugh. I also love the work we do in the community, like participating in parades or handing out candy and plastic hard hats at Mattoon’s Trunk or Treat. It’s awesome to be able to have fun while working.

Education: I graduated from Neoga High School and went to Lake Land College in Mattoon. I have an associate degree in business management as well as certificates in sales and marketing.

One random fact about yourself or something most people may not know about you: I’m a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan, and I love going to baseball games.

Do you have a colleague we should get to know better? There are only three requirements to share their story:

  • They have been at your co-op one year or less

  • They have never worked at an electric co-op before

  • They have an interesting hobby (i.e., fly fishing, bee keeping, small business owner, fitness/outdoor enthusiast, singing or playing in a band – the sky's the limit!)

If you or one of your colleagues meet these requirements, we'd love to hear from you. Please send nominations to megan.mcatee@nreca.coop.
