Your Certified Cooperative Communicators board of directors has experienced a wave of change in the past few months. First and foremost, we welcomed two new board members from our spring election cycle.
Ryan Cornelius, with Co-Mo Electric Cooperative in Missouri, and Jayne Graham, with HomeWorks Tri-County Electric Cooperative in Michigan, were seated to the board in June. We’re thrilled with the contributions they’re already making to our program.
With the seating of new board members, we also must say goodbye to an outgoing board member. Terry Mazzone, with Lorain-Medina Rural Electric Cooperative in Ohio, dutifully served the CCC board of directors for his full allotment of six years. We will greatly miss his service, dedication and unprecedented Robert's Rules of Order expertise.
We also shifted our executive positions on the board. I was appointed to serve as the chair, and I’m happy to have Anna Politano, with the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives, serve as my vice-chair for the upcoming year. Casey Hollins, with Rappahannock Electric Cooperative in Virginia, is continuing her service as secretary.
Our directors serve on committees tackling different aspects of the CCC program. The candidate assessment and program standards (CAPS) committee, the keepers of the exam and the Body of Knowledge, has been diligently reviewing and editing both documents as an on-going initiative to keep materials relevant and up to date.
The program planning committee is wrapping up an extensive overhaul of the CCC program manual, which included updating the categories in which candidates can submit work samples for their portfolio. With this, the committee also revised the portfolio grading rubric. The committee also combined several documents into one cohesive program manual.
Our marketing and communications committee is also wrapping up revisions and reorganization of CCC content housed on cooperative.com. We hope these changes will make it easier for candidates to access important information and resources for their journey through the program.
I hope this gives you just a quick snapshot of the hard work your CCC board of directors is putting into the on-going success of the program.
Until next time…
Cooperatively yours,
Mary Kate Pedigo, CCC
