Considerations for clickable content

As social media becomes woven into the fabric of our lives, the way we use it to communicate has to adapt as well. To help guide your social media journey here are a few considerations to keep in mind while creating content.

Variety is the spice of life; Arm yourself with a variety of content to keep your audience engaged. NRECA provides a wealth of industry-specific resources through Straight Talk that are ready for you to download and use.

Illustrations/Infographics

Unique illustrations and infographics are a great way to deliver technical information in a simple, digestible way. Share things like energy efficiency tips or outage maps to keep members engaged and informed.

Photography

A picture is worth a thousand words. When the power is out, showing a photo of your co-op’s lineworkers hard at work can be exactly what your members need to let them know help is on the way.

Video/Animation

Having a mix of static images and video or animated content can help keep your content interesting. Adding motion into the mix can catch the eye of someone scrolling through their Facebook feed and get them to pause. Be sure to include text and captions for those users browsing without sound.
