Our office has a popular saying by Admiral Grace Hopper on the training room wall, “The most dangerous phrase in our language is, ‘We’ve always done it this way.’” As your new CCC Program Chair, you don’t have to worry about hearing that phrase from me. I’m excited to work with your other elected board members to transform the CCC program throughout the coming year.
Together, NRECA’s Education and Training team and the CCC Program Board have a vision. It won’t look like how we’ve always done things, but it will meet the changing needs of the strategic role communicators play in their cooperatives.
The new program will launch in 2022. It is cohort-based, similar to other NRECA programs, such as the Certified Loss Control Professional (CLCP) and the Certified Key Accounts Executive (CKAE). The CCC Body of Knowledge provides the base for the content. NRECA will deliver it in a combination of online and in-person learning formats. CCC participants will graduate from the program with valuable work products they can implement immediately at their cooperatives.
These changes aren’t happening overnight. They have been evolving since the revamp of the Body of Knowledge began in 2018. They wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of volunteers serving on the CCC board and the hard work of NRECA’s staff supporting the program.
You will see more information about this exciting evolution in the coming months. If you have any questions for me in the meantime, please contact me at 580-652-3876 or
