Feeling the leadership call? Want to take the Certified Cooperative Communicator program to the next level? If so, we have a spot for you.

The CCC Board of Directors invites you to submit your name on the 2018 election ballot to serve as a director. There are six seats open for election on the 14-member board.

The CCC Board is responsible for the program’s overall policy and direction, as well as for standards and requirements to become certified and maintain certification. You can find more information in the CCC Operating Guidelines.

Who can be on the board?

All persons certified as CCC may make nominations of fellow CCCs to serve on the board. Likewise, CCCs in good standing may nominate themselves. Nominations shall be made in accordance with program policies.

I’m interested. What should I do?

If you are interested in standing for election, please submit your name to Angie Hylton via email: angie.hylton@nreca.coop as soon as possible. Upon receipt of this email, Angie will send you a packet of materials including the position description, the CCC Operating Guidelines, campaign guidelines, and necessary forms.

Election materials are due on March 1. The elections will take place from March 15 – 29, and the results will be announced by April 4. New board members are invited (but not required) to attend the spring board meeting on May 7, in Salt Lake City, prior to the CONNECT conference.

Serving as a CCC director requires a significant commitment from you, as well as your co-op. You are required to attend at least two of the three in-person meetings per year and participate in monthly conference calls. Your CEO must be willing to bear the cost of travel and your time away from the office.

“The CCC Program Board is a great way for cooperative communications professionals to use their knowledge, skills and enthusiasm to help build a stronger, more robust certification program and inspire and encourage others to earn their CCC,” said Jerri Imgarten, current CCC director.

We hope you consider this invitation whether you are a brand new CCC or 20-year veteran. It is a great opportunity to grow professionally and to contribute to the CCC program.

If you have any questions about the election process, please contact Angie Hylton. For other questions, please contact Jean at jean.capon@nreca.coop or 703-907-5998.
