NRECA's Cooperative HR Mentoring Program

NRECA's Cooperative HR Mentoring Program is designed to help cooperatives retain top talent by preparing new and experienced HR and benefits professionals to succeed in their roles. A mentor can help new employees get acclimated, decrease their learning curve and build their national cooperative network. The program fosters collaboration and cooperation among cooperatives and exposes participants to new ideas and approaches in the organizational development and workforce development areas.

How It Works

Mentees and mentors complete an application and are matched based on needs, skills and experieences. The program timeline is from January - August, with the conclusion aligning to the second Interact conference.

• Program orientation
• Montly meetings with mentees and mentors
• Email communication with updates and additional resources to support partnerships
• Virtual group check-ins meetings to offer networking, idea exchange and knowledge sharing among participants
  

Why You Should Participate

• As a mentor, you'll share your experience and knowledge with new co-op employees while strengthening your leadership skills.

• As a mentee, you'll learn new ideas and best practices from experienced co-op professionals and grow your skill set and knowledge. This is a great opportunity for new co-op employees or for experienced co-op employees taking on a new job role.

• Mentors and mentees expand their professional network and learn about the approaches and successes of other co-ops across the country.
