NRECA's Cooperative HR Mentoring Program

Develop and Retain Top Talent

NRECA's Cooperative HR Mentoring Program is designed to help organizations retain top talent by preparing new and experienced HR and benefits professionals to succeed in their roles at the cooperative. A mentor can help new employees get acclimated, decrease their learning curve and build their national cooperative network. The program fosters collaboration and cooperation among cooperatives and exposes participants to new ideas and approaches in the organizational development and workforce development areas.

Why You Should Participate

  • As a mentor, you'll share your experience and knowledge with new co-op employees while strengthening your leadership skills.

  • As a mentee, you'll learn new ideas and best practices from experienced co-op professionals and grow your skill set and knowledge. This is a great opportunity for new co-op employees or for experienced co-op employees taking on a new job role.

  • Mentors and mentees expand their professional network and learn about the approaches and successes of other co-ops across the country.

  • Meetings are conducted virtually. Mentors and mentees are matched by needs, skills, and experiences.

  • Set your own schedule and meet as often as you like and when it's convenient for you. Most mentor and mentee matches meet for one hour, once a month!
