The Cooperative IT Community Mentoring Program is designed to help IT professionals grow and expand in their role at the cooperative, and help organizations develop and retain top talent. An experienced mentor can help new employees get acclimated, decrease their learning curve, and build their national cooperative network. The program fosters collaboration and cooperation among cooperatives and exposes participants to new ideas and approaches in the organizational development and workforce development area.
Meetings are conducted virtually. Mentors and mentees are matched by needs, skills, and experiences.
- As a mentor, you'll share your experience and knowledge with new co-op employees while strengthening your leadership skills.
- As a mentee, you'll learn new ideas and best practices from experienced co-op professionals and grow your skill set and knowledge. This is a great opportunity for new co-op employees or for experienced co-op employees taking on a new job role.
- Mentors and mentees expand their professional network and learn about the approaches and successes of other co-ops across the country.
- Set your own schedule and meet as often as you like and when it's convenient for you. Most mentor and mentee matches meet for one hour, once a month!
Our mentoring program for the IT Community is NEW so we started with a pilot group of 5 mentoring pairs in 2020. Applications for our pilot are no longer being accepted, but please check back in November 2020 for information about next year’s application process.
