NRECA submitted a filing to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in support of petitions for reconsideration of its August 2, 2018 wireline pole attachment order, which addressed "one-touch-make-ready" (OTMR). NRECA opposes the rule allowing telecom self-help in the electric space, stresses the need for effective oversight of overlashing, calls for reasonable timeframes and processes that will encourage broadband without negatively impacting utilities, and reiterates that pole owners must be able to fully recover the cost of attachers being on their infrastructure.
