On April 23 and 24, NRECA along with NTCA, FBA, and UTC met separately with staff to Chairman Pai and Commissioners Rosenworcel and Starks to urge them to establish bright line rules that will limit the ability of certain technologies to bid in the gigabit tier in the upcoming RDOF auction.  Only technologies that have a proven track record of offering gigabit service in FCC Form 499 should be allowed to bid in the gigabit tier.  Technologies, such as fixed wireless, geostationary satellite, copper DSL, and new Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites, have not proven they are capable of providing gigabit service and therefore should be prohibited from bidding in the gigabit tier.
