comments with the FCC in response to a notice of proposed rulemaking seeking comment on the rules and processes underlying the upcoming Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) Reverse Auction. The comments reiterated our recommendation that the FCC broaden the performance tier weighting to favor higher speed networks that will meet the growing demands for bandwidth for years to come, and to create a more efficient auction the FCC should award support to the bid having the lowest weighting (i.e. fastest network) at the clearing round. This approach will ensure a greater percentage of the overall funding is both awarded and made available to the bidder looking to deploy the most robust and sustainable terrestrial broadband networks.
