​On January 28, NRECA, along with the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), the American Public Power Association (APPA), and the Utilities Technology Council (UTC) sent a letter to the Department of Energy, Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response requesting a meeting to discuss concerns the FCC's order opening the 6 GHz band to unlicensed use will cause interference impacting mission-critical electric operations.​
