​NRECA filed comments jointly with APPA, LPPC, and TAPS in response to the Department of Energy's request for information on threats posed by the supply chain to critical electric infrastructure.  DOE is exploring a long-term strategy and potential restrictions that could extend beyond the bulk power system into distribution facilities. In our comments, NRECA urged DOE to directly engage with vendors that provide equipment to electric utilities to address any concerns about supply chain risks. Any new measures DOE chooses to pursue regarding electric infrastructure should be clear, risk-informed, and take cost into account to avoid unintended consequences to grid security and reliability. ​
