​On November 8, NRECA joined ten other national trade associations and over fifty individual entities on a letter to the FCC opposing an proposal to open the 6 GHz band, heavily used by utilities, to unlicensed usage. The coalition represents a broad cross-section of public safety providers and critical infrastructure industries (CII) that use the 6 GHz band for mission-critical communications throughout the Nation.  The letter specifically outlines concerns of utilities, public safety, railroads and offshore oil and gas producers.
