​On October 20, 2022, NRECA filed comments with the FCC in support of a proposal regarding changes to the partitioning, disaggregation, and leasing rules to facilitate increased availability of wireless services, particularly in rural areas.  Changes as proposed would maximize the ability of rural electric cooperatives to make use of wireless spectrum for the benefit of their communities whether it be implementation of smart grid or deployment of broadband. ​
