On November 30, 2020, NRECA submitted comments to the Department of Defense (DoD) regarding their interim rule on cybersecurity requirements for electric utilities that provide service to DoD facilities.  With collaboration and coordination across Government Relations, Business and Technology Services, Office of General Counsel, and co-ops that serve DoD facilities, NRECA’s comments seek clarity on which co-op and DoD systems must be in compliance with the interim rule.  We also asked for the implementation schedule to be delayed to ease the timeframe for the planning and analysis required to comply with the interim rule.
