​​On June 15, NRECA filed comments with the FCC regarding a requirement that provider broadband data collection submissions be certified by a certified Professional Engineer (PE). NRECA supports efforts to ensure the accuracy and veracity of broadband data submissions, the PE certification is onerous for small entities. NRECA proposed other avenues the FCC can implement to compel accurate submissions that are less onerous to small entities, such as electric cooperatives, including an enhanced review for questionable submissions and robust fines for egregious and repeated inaccurate submissions. ​
