On July 31, NRECA, along with the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) filed joint comments with the FCC in response to proposed rules modifying how consumers can revoke consent to receive robocalls and robotexts and shortening the time under which a business must effectuate the revocation, under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).   In the comments, NRECA and EEI asked for the FCC to clarify the methods and language consumers may use to revoke consent to be contacted and urged the FCC to provide businesses ten days to effectuate the revocation request.
