​NRECA filed comments with the Department of Defense and General Services Administration responding to their request for information on planning and options for transitioning the U.S. government's power supply to carbon free electricity to meet the Biden administration's target of 100% carbon free electricity annually by fiscal year 2030 for federal facilities. While NRECA expressed serious concerns with the Biden administration's Executive Order driving the agencies' efforts, we highlighted the strong partnerships between many U.S. military bases and co-ops that already exist today and the importance of bases and federal facilities engaging with co-ops in power supply planning to ensure continued access to affordable and reliable power.​
