NRECA, along with other trade associations, petitioned the Department of the Interior and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to extend the March 21, 2017 effective date of the final rule listing the rusty patched bumble bee as endangered under the Endangered Species Act until January 11, 2018. The final listing decision was issued by the Obama administration just before the Trump administration took office, and extending the effective date of the decision will provide the new administration with the opportunity to evaluate the rule and the underlying administrative record.
