NRECA submitted comments to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) supporting EPA's and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' proposal to rescind the 2015 Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule and to codify prior regulations that are now being implemented. The 2015 rule is inconsistent with statutory limits on Clean Water Act jurisdiction as recognized by various Supreme Court holdings and would assert jurisdiction over features with little or no relationship to navigable waters. NRECA also attached examples demonstrating the potential extent and impact of the 2015 rule on eight federal projects.FULL FILING

As a member of both organizations, NRECA also supported comments filed by the Utility Water Act Group (UWAG) and the Waters Advocacy Coalition (WAC).
