​The Utility Water Act Group (UWAG), which includes NRECA as a member, submitted comments to the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) on its status review of the alewife and blueback herring under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). UWAG highlights that information that has become available in the last four years since the NMFS 2013 decision not to list the species as threatened or endangered confirms and further demonstrates that the alewife and blueback herring do not warrant the protections of the ESA.
