NRECA filed comments through the Energy and Wildlife Action Coalition (EWAC) concerning the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's (FWS) proposed amendments to 26 recovery plans covering 42 species across the country. With many recovery plans over a decade old, we commend the FWS for considering new and significant information that will better inform the FWS, regulated community, and federal, state, and local resource agencies. However, we urge the agency to ensure that any amended species recovery criteria is not burdensome or onerous on federal agencies and industry. Further, we ask the FWS to carefully consider conservation efforts that have occurred since the previous iteration of the species recovery plan. FULL FILING
