In the first quarter of 2020, ACRE raised $834,009 from 23,022 members, nearly $22,000 more than the amount contributed to ACRE in the first quarter of 2019. More than 2,000 new members contributed to ACRE in 2020. This increase will help ACRE reach the goal of raising $5 million total over 2019 and 2020 and move ACRE into the top tier of political action committees (PACs) in the country.
As the 2020 election cycle kicked into gear with the primary elections, ACRE continued to support candidates who support electric cooperatives and their members. ACRE contributed $770,893 to candidates, leadership PACs, caucus PACs and the House and Senate party committees to begin our election year spending for candidates who support issues important to electric cooperatives.
ACRE is off to a strong start in 2020 to influence elections across the country in support of America’s electric cooperatives.
