Letter from NRECA CEO Jim Matheson sent to Congressional leaders outlining NRECA and cooperative priorities for the reconciliation process. NRECA noted that repricing of Rural Utilities Service debt, direct pay tax credits for building clean energy, and a voluntary program to incentivize deployment of low-carbon technologies would create opportunities for recovery and reinvestment in rural America. NRECA also emphasized that inclusion of a clean energy standard in the reconciliation package could jeopardize co-ops' ability to provide reliable and affordable electricity.
