This report by NRECA's Business & Technology Strategies (BTS) group provides a high-level summary of trends in the U.S. electric industry using recent projections produced by the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Energy Information Administration (EIA). The report supplements these projections with interspersed subsections focused specifically on electric cooperatives, as well as two Issue in Focus sections covering topics with industry-wide impact: (1) geopolitical developments influencing global energy supply and demand as well as domestic energy prices; and (2) regional energy market challenges and the different approaches being taken to address them.
