The Kauai Island Utility Cooperative (KIUC) has begun a first-ever formal Load Research Study for the cooperative’s electric system, using the newly installed Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system developed in association with the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) under the Smart Grid Demonstration Project.

This report looks at that study and conclusions drawn from it.
