Entertainment Night: Trace Adkins

trace-adkins-standing.jpgA Nashville icon for more than two decades, Trace Adkins has made his mark on the country-music industry with 11 million albums sold, hit singles like "You're Gonna Miss This" and "Ladies Love Country Boys," GRAMMY nominations, Country Music Television and Academy of Country Music Awards, an autobiography and even a slew of movie and TV roles to his credit. But ask Adkins what's left to prove in his career and the small-town Louisiana native says it's simple: the itch remains – to create, to collaborate, to continually feel the excitement that comes after whipping up a new song out of thin air and laying it down to tape. It's what, after all these years, he says he still craves. "It's an adrenaline rush and I love it," says Adkins, who spent much of last year in a Nashville studio writing and recording Something's Going On, his 12th studio album — released March 31, 2017 — and his first release on his new label, BBR Music Group/Wheelhouse Records. "There's nothing else like that," the Louisiana naive offers. "That is still my favorite thing to do in this business. Go into the studio with just some lyrics and a melody and then let the finest musicians in the world help take it and turn it into something magical. It liberates me. I just dig it!"

2017 Next Generation Leader Experience Participants

Engaging & Preparing Future Co-op Leaders
NRECA is committed to working with our member co-ops to attract and retain top talent. This, of course, includes the future leaders of America’s electric cooperatives. The Next Generation Leaders Experience develops emerging cooperative leaders through special NRECA Annual Meeting programming designed to build their knowledge of the cooperative network, extend their professional network and develop self-awareness that will help as they grow and contribute as co-op leaders.

Community Service Projects

Annual Meeting participants will again have two opportunities to give back to our host city before and during the event.

Saturday, February 24 | 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Touchstone Energy Community Service Project

For those who can come early to the NRECA Annual Meeting, join Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives as we team with Middle Tennessee EC. We will be working on a variety of energy efficiency upgrades and good, old-fashioned home improvement projects within the co-op’s service territory.

At 7 a.m. volunteers will meet for a light breakfast and registration, and after a short bus ride volunteers will begin pitching in to improve the community. Lunch, tools and materials will be provided, and work at the site concludes at 4 p.m. Participation will be capped at 100 volunteers. Specific information regarding registering for this event and other logistics will be provided soon.

Monday-Tuesday | February 26-27
