"Golf at The Canyons"TPC San Antonio: Home of the PGA Tour's Valero OpenJoin us for a round of golf on Sunday, June 15 at The Canyons course located on the grounds of the JW Marriott Hill Country.Due to the differing topography, The Canyons course offers more dramatic elevation changes with corridors providing panoramic views of the protected, adjacent nature preserve. This golf course in San Antonio, TX, is as scenic as it is player-friendly offering wide fairways, noble trees, and vista views of the surrounding Cibolo Canyons. Eighteen holes, 7,106 yards, Par 72.

Call for Abstracts
You are invited to submit an abstract for presentation at the 74th Annual AREGC Conference, a four-day event to be held in San Antonio, Texas, from June 15 to June 18, 2025. Golden Spread Electric Cooperative is hosting the conference and Associated Electric Cooperative is organizing the technical program, including selection and management of presentations.
This annual national event is designed to provide electric cooperative power plant operations, maintenance, and engineering personnel an opportunity to meet with experts, collaborate with peers, and gain knowledge and insight into new practices and technologies to enhance the effectiveness of electric-generating cooperatives. The agenda will include presentations and panel discussion led by cooperative leaders and industry experts to share experiences and ideas to improve plant performance and plan for changes within the industry. Targeted presentation topic categories for 2025 are listed below, along with the top subject areas identified by our membership:
Emerging technology use – Artificial Intelligence/Pattern Recognition, sensors in equipment (health monitoring), big data and drones.
Power generation safety – Case studies and trends.
Environmental/Regulatory – 111b/111d updates and environmental/regulatory updates.
Asset management – DCS and system obsolescence, equipment/spare parts management, whole life cycle models, and benchmarking.
Plant processes – Operational excellence, predictive maintenance, heat rate improvements, plant staff training, controls/tuning/alarms management, outage and work management and enhanced flexibility.
Plant equipment – Gas turbine advanced technology, maintenance/operating experiences, steam turbines, generators, reciprocating engine experiences and boiler/HRSG experiences.
Bulk energy storage – Batteries, fuel storage (fuel oil, LNG), small modular nuclear reactors, and bulk energy emerging technologies.
Resiliency/Cybersecurity – Winterization/weatherization and regulatory updates.
Market – Capacity requirement changes (summer/winter), trends, and impact of data centers and large loads.
Any other topics you think will be beneficial to the AREGC membership.
To have a presentation considered, please submit a two to three paragraph abstract on the main points of your proposed presentation, e.g., objective, key challenges, lessons learned and conclusions. Please include the presenter's name, title, company, address, phone number, and email address. All submittals should be noncommercial in nature.
Abstracts will be accepted, via e-mail only, no later than February 7, 2025. Notification of acceptance will be issued by March 21, 2025.
Presentations will occur Monday through Wednesday, June 16th – June 18th. The conference will end with the AREGC Business Meeting from 11:00 a.m until noon on Wednesday.
