Cooperatives recognize the need for Distribution Automation (DA) for reliable and efficient operations as the energy and power delivery landscape evolves. Understanding the unique needs and requirements of cooperatives is
essential for effectively designing Distribution Automation tools and resources that are appropriate
for filling those needs.
To this end, NRECA conducted two surveys to gather
detailed information from cooperatives about their current and future plans for
DA, the specific challenges they face, and the potential benefits they expect.
These surveys aimed to identify the unique requirements of cooperatives,
establish metrics for cost-benefit analysis, and understand common business
objectives and priorities that inform DA adoption.
This report documents the
findings of the survey results.
