​​​​​NRECA advises electric cooperatives and statewide associations to contact their state broadband office and press for fair rules for the BEAD program. States’ rules will directly impact co-ops’ ability to successfully bid and win BEAD awards.

To this end, NRECA is providing a templated letter​ exclusively for NRECA Broadband participants to help co-ops communicate with state officials. It includes important requests to raise with your state, including simplifying the application process and providing technical assistance to encourage participation by small and non-traditional providers, among other key issues.

Co-ops are encouraged to tailor the letter to their state’s specific issues and circumstances. If you contact your state broadband office, please send NRECA Broadband​ a copy of the letter.
