NRECA submitted comments urging the FCC to ensure any overhaul of the Universal Service Fund’s High-Cost Program supports broadband networks that are built to meet future demand, not just today’s minimum standards.
NRECA called for High-Cost support recipients to provide at least symmetrical 100 Mbps service, the creation of a new program to help cover ongoing network operating costs and the prioritization of scalable, terrestrial infrastructure in rural areas.
