Extreme weather events are becoming more common and destructive, affecting the reliability of the power grid. A recent Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory study estimated the performance of behind-the-meter solar PV-plus-energy-storage-systems in providing critical-load or whole-building backup across a wide range of geographies, building types, and power interruption conditions. This advisory summarizes the findings of this study.
