Hobby: Volunteering in the community
Tell us about some of your community involvement:
I served as the Teton Distinguished Women director for 10 years and now serve on the Idaho state board. I also coached softball for nearly 18 years, traveling to tournaments in Idaho, Montana and Utah. Over the years, I've volunteered with many community activities. One of my favorite experiences was helping set up the concrete forms for the Snowscapes event in Driggs, then volunteering as the assistant photographer at the Snowball.
What do you love most about helping people?
I love making people smile and feel valued. In a world that can feel negative, I want to remind others there are still people who care and want to help.
What's been one of your favorite experiences since joining Fall River Electric?
Leading a high school food drive competition. At Teton High, I helped organize the effort that collected more than 7,000 pounds of food for the local pantry, and seeing their gratitude was unforgettable.
What's something that surprised or impressed you about the co-op industry?
I've been impressed by how much co-ops support their members beyond electricity—through wellness programs, mental health resources and community involvement. I've learned so much already, and it's been exciting to discover this side of the co-op world.
What advice would you give someone just starting out at a co-op?
Embrace everything the co-op world has to offer. Explore programs like Future Me, take advantage of the learning opportunities through NRECA, and lean on your coworkers—they're an incredible source of support. Most of all, enjoy being part of the co-op family.
