NRECA's Women in Power Mentoring Program

Develop as a Professional

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​NRECA's Women i​n Power Mentoring Program is designed to help cooperative professionals grow and expand in their role at the cooperative, develop leadership and management skill sets, and help organizations support and retain top talent. The program fosters collaboration and cooperation among cooperatives and exposes participants to new ideas and approaches in their development of communication and other professional skills.​

How It Works

Mentors and mentees are matched by needs, skills, and experiences. The coho​​rt based 6-month program, running June-November, offers multiple networking opportunities and resources to help you achieve your goals including

  • Monthly Mentor and Mentee coffee hours to connect with and learn from fellow program participants.
  • Training sessions and guidance to help you understand and succeed in your role in the partnership.
  • Meeting structure guides and thought-provoking prompts to support effective conversations within partnerships.

Why You Should Participate

  • Move from a task-oriented technical practitioner to a strategic thinker, planner and contributor.
  • Develop a professional network of cooperative professionals for the purpose of knowledge sharing and collaboration.

Get Involved

Application forms are now available for NRECA's 2025 Women in Power Mentoring Program! Applications will be accepted until Wednesday, April 30.  Applicants must be employed by an NRECA voting member organization (distribution, G&T, statewide, or service). The program will be conducted entirely online, requiring no travel, and there is no fee to participate. Participants must agree to meet with their mentoring partner at least once a month for six months, from June through November.

Applicants will be notified by May 16 regarding their selection status.  This year, up to 14 mentor/mentee pairings will be chosen, so we may not be able to accommodate all applicants.

An orientation session for selected participants is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM Eastern.  Please reserve this time on your calendar NOW in case you are selected.
